Job Description - Supply Chain Lead
Role Overview:
We're hiring a Supply Chain Lead to own our supply chain end-to-end "Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics" in a regulated medical device environment. This is a hands-on role: you will lead the teams, own processes, budgets and track spends, drive demand planning, and keep every process audit-ready.
Responsibilities:
1. Procurement:
- Demand planning - lead demand planning in partnership with Sales, translating the sales forecast and pipeline into a material and component procurement plan.
- Supplier onboarding & quality - qualify and onboard suppliers via a risk-classified Approved Supplier List (ASL) process; drive incoming quality control (IQC); and negotiate favorable delivery schedules, pricing, and payment / credit terms.
- Audit documentation & CAPAs - own supplier management documentation for audits (supplier files, quality agreements, evaluation and re-evaluation records) and raise CAPAs against non-conformances, driving root-cause analysis and effectiveness checks to closure.
- Team management - lead, prioritize, and mentor the procurement team.
- Budgets - prepare and track procurement budgets, monitoring budget vs. actuals and driving cost-savings initiatives.
- Audits - participate in inventory audits and QMS audits, keeping procurement records audit-ready at all times.
2. Manufacturing:
- Manufacturing partners - onboard and manage contract manufacturers / EMS partners end-to-end apart from inhouse manufacturing. Enforce quality control, and negotiate favorable delivery and payment terms in support of production.
- Efficiency & output - track manufacturing efficiency and output against plan, resolving bottlenecks between suppliers and the production line.
- Stock visibility - build dashboards and reports giving the Sales team real-time visibility into stock levels and availability.
- COGS - track COGS for each production cycle and surface variances against standard cost.
- Team management - manage the manufacturing team.
- Audits - participate in inventory audits and QMS audits.
- Engineering feedback loop - review field tickets and failure reports, translating recurring issues into structured inputs for the Engineering team to drive design / process improvements.
3. Logistics (Domestic & International):
- Distribution, imports & exports - lead the logistics team covering domestic distribution, imports, and exports.
- 3PL & warehousing - onboard and manage 3PL partners, evaluate zone-wise utilization, and stand up local / regional warehousing where the network requires it.
- Cost - own logistics cost (freight, customs, warehousing) and drive it down against KPIs.
- ERP tracking - set up ERP modules for shipment tracking and end-to-end visibility.
- TATs - define and maintain shipment turnaround times (TATs) and hold the network accountable to them.
4. Cross-Functional & Systems:
- ERP & dashboards - set up and administer ERP workflows (IQC gating, NC / CAPA tracking, supplier status, inventory, shipment modules) and build management dashboards for spend, COGS, inventory turns, on-time delivery, and supplier performance.
- Consolidated budget - own the consolidated supply chain budget.
- Regulatory audits - serve as a supply chain point-of-contact in ISO 13485, CE (MDR), and FDA audits, partnering closely with QARA.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in supply chain / operations across procurement, manufacturing, and logistics.
- Proven experience managing teams and managing spends / budgets.
- Strong supplier onboarding and negotiation track record (delivery terms, payment / credit terms, quality).
- Hands-on ERP experience - setting up or administering procurement, inventory, and logistics modules.
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable building dashboards and reporting on COGS, inventory, and KPIs.
