Position Overview:

Glimmer Technologies is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to establish and lead its in-house finance function. With the responsibility for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting and operations, the incumbent will build the financial infrastructure that supports Glimmer's growth, serve as the primary liaison with the parent company's CFO, and ensure that the finance function keeps pace with the ambitions of a rapidly scaling enterprise AI company.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

- Oversee all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and revenue recognition.

- Own and manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all reporting cycles.

- Prepare monthly MIS reports, management accounts, and annual financial statements for internal leadership and group-level review.

- Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards (Ind AS) and applicable regulatory requirements.

- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual statutory audit process end-to-end.

- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial analysis and management reporting frameworks appropriate for a SaaS business.

Strategic Financial Planning:

- Collaborate with the leadership team on annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and strategic planning processes.

- Provide strategic financial insights to senior management and the parent group's CFO.

- Conduct variance analysis against budget and actuals, providing clear commentary and actionable recommendations.

- Support business decisions with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and investment feasibility assessments.

- Build and track SaaS-relevant financial metrics including ARR, churn, gross margin, and unit economics to inform growth strategy.

Taxation & Compliance:

- Lead tax planning and compliance across direct and indirect taxes relevant to a technology company.

- Oversee GST compliance, return filings, and input tax credit management.

- Manage TDS/TCS compliance, advance tax payments, and income tax computations.

- Handle tax assessments and liaise with tax authorities and consultants as required.

- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on Glimmer's business model and operations.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:

- Establish and continuously improve internal financial controls and governance frameworks.

- Identify and manage financial risks including operational risk and fraud prevention.

- Implement policies and procedures that support scale while maintaining rigour and compliance.

- Coordinate with external advisors, legal counsel, and the parent group on risk and compliance matters.

Technology & Process Innovation:

- Evaluate, implement, and optimise accounting and ERP systems appropriate for Glimmer's scale and growth trajectory.

- Drive process automation to reduce manual intervention, improve accuracy, and increase the speed of reporting.

- Identify opportunities to leverage technology, including AI-enabled tools to improve the efficiency and insight depth of the finance function.

- Develop automated reconciliation processes and financial reporting workflows.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, lead, and mentor the finance team, currently comprising a Senior Accountant and a Junior Accountant.

- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence within the team.

- Drive performance management, goal-setting, and capability development across the finance function.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with the product, revenue, operations, and technology teams.

- Liaise with the parent company's CFO on financial performance, reporting cadences, and consolidation requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.

- Additional certifications such as CFA or CPA are an advantage.

- MBA in Finance or a related field is a plus.

Experience Requirements

- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.

- Prior experience in a technology company, SaaS business, or growth-stage start-up strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated experience in setting up or leading a finance function, not just managing within an established team.

- Hands-on exposure to financial systems implementation, ERP deployment, and process automation.

- Working knowledge of international taxation.

Technical Competencies:

- Deep expertise in Ind AS accounting standards and financial reporting.

- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS/TCS, direct tax laws, and applicable corporate compliance requirements.

- Proficiency in advanced Excel and financial modelling; experience with ERP and accounting platforms (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent).

- Understanding of SaaS financial metrics and the ability to translate them into management reporting.

- Comfort with technology and a disposition to leverage digital tools in the finance function.

Leadership & Soft Skills:

- Exceptional analytical thinking and attention to operational detail.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to present financial information clearly to non-finance leaders.

- Proven ability to build systems and teams from the ground up in a fast-moving environment.

- Strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves and execute.

- High integrity and sound professional judgement.
