Job Purpose:

The Chief Risk Officer is expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the Company through the development and implementation of Risk Management strategies, policies, and procedures in support of the business goals.

Responsibilities :

The incumbent is expected to assess the organization's risk appetite, determine the level of risk, create risk maps and strategic action plans encompassing, but not limited to :

- Aggregate risks and establish frameworks for comparing risks across different businesses.

- Responsible for looking at macro risk impacts on the businesses and correlate macro, micro, credit, interest rate, regulatory risk etc. into a coherent framework that allows management to establish firmwide guidelines, monitor and allocate risk to the various businesses.

- Set objectives for measuring, monitoring, evaluating, and mitigating the risk exposure and ensure that they are reported in a timely manner to regulatory entities and the management of the Company.

- Recommend and maintain proper approval processes for all transaction types to ensure proper risk control.

- Ensure that the risks are properly addressed in terms of compliance with existing rules and regulations established by internal, local, and international regulators.

- Establish procedure and execute Profitability and Risk analysis for the Company frequently.

- Develop predictive dynamic monitoring procedures/system for Risk Management Department.

- Responsible for contacts with external authorities, locally and abroad, for Risk Management matters and for meetings with management of the Company and other related companies, to obtain the most updated risk management information.

- Coordinate with other departments such as Credit, IT, Operations, Finance/Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, to create an efficient and effective communication via the functional lines.

- Propose and promote a common risk culture and awareness to be accepted throughout the Company, in particular the Risk, Credit and Operation department.

- Supervising the Risk Management department in delivering high quality and professional service to the Company and the clients in the field of risk management.

- Other job-related tasks as assigned by the management.

Qualifications :

- Minimum of 15-20 years' progressive experience in the Risk Management field with a minimum of 10 years at supervisory & management level in a mid or large size commercial bank/financial institution/fintech/NBFC/BFSI.

- Master's degree and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in banking/financial services.

- Previous experience in managing Risk Management and Compliance functions.

- Proven expertise in retail banking/fintech organization.

- Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of Risk Management activities, both operations and analysis.

- Fully functional in monitoring of documentation, portfolios & exposure limits of the organization.

- Considerable knowledge of modern regulations and practices related to Risk Management.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Risk Management practices including policy/procedure development.
