Position: Business Development Manager - Books (E-commerce)
Location: Delhi (Okhla)
Role & responsibilities:
Category Ownership Strategy:
- Define and execute category growth strategy for books across multiple marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Distacart, etc.).
- Build and manage an optimized product catalog for all subcategories (fiction, non-fiction, academic, engineering, medical, economics, etc.).
- Develop pricing, promotion, and inventory strategies to maximize profitability and visibility.
Vendor s Publisher Management
- Identify and onboard new publishers, distributors, and book vendors.
- Negotiate commercial terms, margin structures, and promotional partnerships.
- Maintain strong relationships with publishing houses, distributors, and logistics partners.
Marketplace Operations
- Oversee listing creation, content optimization, and SEO for books on each platform.
- Ensure compliance with platform requirements, policies, and quality standards.
- Monitor competition, market trends, and customer behavior to drive category performance.
Data s Performance Analytics
- Analyze sales performance, pricing, traffic, and conversion data to identify opportunities for growth.
- Create regular dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as sales, margin, and category ranking.
- Leverage insights to refine strategy and execution continuously.
Marketing s Merchandising:
- Collaborate with marketing teams for campaigns, seasonal promotions, and book launches.
- Manage cross-category promotions and recommendations to increase AOV and customer engagement.
- Plan and execute marketplace-specific promotions to boost visibility and sales.
Qualifications s Skills:
- Bachelors or masters degree in business, Marketing, E-commerce, or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in BD in the Books Category, preferably in online retail.
- Hands-on experience in the books category on Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Seller Centre, or eBay Seller Hub.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills; familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Google Data Studio).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for books, reading trends, and marketplace innovation is a plus.
