About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director - Warehousing & Fulfilment Operations to lead our nationwide fulfilment network. This role is critical to driving operational excellence, seamless customer delivery, process efficiency, and scalability across multi-location warehouses. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in high-volume e-commerce fulfilment, automation, inventory management, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehousing & Fulfilment Leadership

- Lead end-to-end operations across multiple warehouses and fulfilment centers.

- Ensure high productivity, accuracy, and SLA adherence for inward, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.

- Drive OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) delivery performance and reduce TAT across fulfilment flows.

- Implement best practices for space management, layout design, storage optimization, and material handling.

- Oversee 3PL operations, vendor performance, and contractual compliance.

2. Process Excellence & Optimization

- Build and standardize SOPs across all warehouses to ensure consistency and quality.

- Introduce lean processes, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Reduce order defects, shrinkage, damages, and returns through strong control mechanisms.

- Optimize manpower planning, shift strategy, and resource utilization.

3. Automation, Technology & Systems

- Drive adoption of WMS, barcode/RFID, automation tools, and tech-enabled workflows.

- Collaborate with Product & Tech teams to roll out system features improving throughput and accuracy.

- Use dashboards, MIS, and analytics to monitor performance and drive data-backed decisions.

4. Inventory Management

- Ensure accurate cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation across all facilities.

- Maintain optimum inventory levels, storage norms, and FIFO/FEFO compliance.

- Minimize inventory leakage and implement strong governance mechanisms.

5. Logistics Coordination

- Coordinate with last-mile delivery partners and internal logistics teams for seamless dispatch.

- Improve NDR management, RTO reduction, packaging quality, and customer delivery experience.

6. People Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse managers, supervisors, and ground teams.

- Build a culture focused on safety, performance, ownership, and continuous improvement.

- Drive training programs for productivity improvement and skill enhancement.

7. Compliance, Safety & Risk

- Implement and monitor EHS, 5S, security, and compliance norms across fulfilment centers.

- Ensure audits, statutory requirements, and regulatory guidelines are met.

- Establish robust BCP (Business Continuity Planning) measures.

Experience & Qualifications

- 12-20 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, FMCG, logistics, or 3PL fulfilment operations.

- Proven leadership in managing large-scale warehouses/fulfilment centers and multi-location operations.

- Strong understanding of WMS, automation technologies, and supply chain systems.

- Expertise in process design, productivity improvement, and operational excellence.

- MBA / B.E. / B.Tech preferred; certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or Supply Chain are an added advantage.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
