Director/Vice President - Investment Banking - Private Equity

Role Summary:

We are looking for a senior investment banking professional to originate mandates, lead transactions end-to-end, and own sector franchises.

The Director/VP will be responsible for building a strong deal pipeline, winning mandates, leading complex transactions to closure, and positioning the firm as a trusted advisor to founders and investors.

This role sits at the core of the firms revenue engine and leadership team.

Core Role Expectations:

This role has three primary pillars of ownership:

1) Mandate Origination (Primary KPI):

- Proactively originate new mandates and build a strong, high-quality pipeline.

- Convert relationships into active engagements.

- Lead pitch strategy and win competitive mandates.

- Build deep relationships with founders, CEOs, VC/PE funds, family offices, and ecosystem partners.

- Identify emerging themes and opportunities aligned with impact sectors.

2) Transaction Leadership (End-to-End Deal Ownership):

- Act as the primary deal lead and senior client advisor.

- Drive deal positioning, investor outreach, negotiations, valuation, structuring, and final documentation.

- Coordinate with legal, diligence, and advisors to ensure deal closure.

3) Sector Leadership (Franchise Building):

- Own and lead coverage of one or more sectors.

- Become the first point of contact and thought leader for the sector.

- Build deep ecosystem relationships and sector insights.

- Develop sector strategy and long-term pipeline.

- Represent the firm at industry forums, events and conferences.

Preferences:

- 15 years in investment banking - private equity advisory.

- Strong network across the VC/PE ecosystem in India.

- Experience managing teams and mentoring talent.

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
