Director - Treasury Operations & Center of Excellence

Location: India (Global Treasury Center of Excellence)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced treasury leader to serve as Director - Treasury Operations & Center of Excellence (CoE) for one of our automotive clients. Reporting directly to the Treasurer, this individual will lead the Global Treasury Operations team based in India and oversee the delivery of standardized, efficient, and scalable treasury services supporting the Company's global operations.

The Director will be responsible for global cash and liquidity reporting, treasury systems, working capital programs, bank account administration, and treasury compliance and controls. This role will partner closely with Capital Markets, Regional Treasury Managers, Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Procurement, Shared Services, IT, and business unit finance teams to ensure operational excellence and support strategic treasury objectives.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in treasury transformation by driving automation, standardization, and continuous process improvement across the global treasury organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Treasury Operations & Liquidity Management:

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Global Treasury Center of Excellence.

- Oversee global daily cash positioning, liquidity reporting, intercompany funding, and short-term investment execution.

- Support liquidity optimization and working capital initiatives across the organization.

- Oversee operational execution of foreign exchange exposure reporting, hedge confirmation, treasury settlement, and approved hedging activities.

- Support debt administration, debt service payments, interest calculations, and treasury reporting related to financing activities.

2. Treasury Controls & Governance:

- Execute treasury operations in accordance with established treasury policies, internal controls, and governance standards.

- Ensure compliance with delegated authority, segregation of duties, and banking procedures.

- Support SOX compliance, internal controls, external audits, and Treasury control testing. Maintain treasury operating procedures, policies, and desktop documentation.

- Oversee the global bank account management process including Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. Maintain centralized bank account governance including bank account master data, user entitlements, and signatory administration.

- Drive operational risk mitigation and process standardization.

- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for Treasury Operations.

3. Treasury Transformation & Digital Innovation:

- Develop and execute the Treasury Operations transformation roadmap.

- Serve as the business owner for treasury operations within treasury management systems and banking platforms.

- Lead implementation of Treasury Management Systems, bank connectivity solutions, workflow automation, and digital payment capabilities.

- Identify opportunities to leverage Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and advanced analytics to improve Treasury processes.

- Drive straight-through processing and eliminate manual touchpoints across Treasury workflows.

- Develop operational dashboards and management reporting using data analytics and visualization tools.

4. Leadership & Talent Development:

- Lead, coach, and develop the Treasury Operations team within the Center of Excellence.

- Establish performance objectives, career development plans, and succession planning.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Build strong partnerships with Regional Treasury Managers and Corporate Finance teams.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

- MBA, Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Chartered Accountant (CA), CFA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Qualifications:

- 12+ years of progressive treasury experience, with significant leadership responsibility in treasury operations, cash management, or shared services.

- Experience leading global treasury operations or finance shared service organizations.

- Strong knowledge of cash management, payments, bank account administration, liquidity management, and treasury controls.

- Experience with Treasury Management Systems (Kyriba preferred), SAP, SWIFT, and electronic banking platforms.

- Knowledge of working capital solutions including supply chain finance, factoring, and receivable securitization.

- Strong understanding of SOX controls, audit requirements, and treasury governance.

- Proven ability to lead global teams and drive process transformation.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
