About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Director - Engineering to lead and scale a high-performing engineering organization. This role requires a strong technology leader with deep expertise in modern architecture, cloud platforms, and AI-driven product development.

As the Engineering Head, you will define and drive the technical strategy, build world-class teams, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality enterprise products. You will partner closely with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to translate strategic vision into impactful technology outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 40+ engineers, architects, and technical leads.

- Define and execute the long-term engineering and technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.

- Drive architecture and design decisions for scalable, distributed, and cloud-native systems.

- Lead AI-driven solution initiatives and integrate emerging technologies into core platforms.

- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and design governance.

- Ensure delivery excellence across quality, security, scalability, performance, and reliability.

- Champion Agile methodologies and foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

- Oversee resource planning, budgeting, and capacity management.

- Drive DevOps practices and support live production systems in a modern engineering model.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other leadership teams.

- Recruit, retain, and develop top-tier engineering talent.

- Track engineering KPIs, improve productivity, and ensure predictable delivery outcomes.

Technical Expertise Required:

- Strong experience in Java and Microservices architecture

- Deep understanding of AWS cloud platform

- Hands-on experience with AI-driven systems

- Expertise in Angular framework

Experience with: Spring (Core, AOP, Transactions, Data, Security)

- Cassandra

- Kubernetes (K8s)

- Kafka

- Docker

- Knowledge of security best practices (SSL/TLS, OAuth)

- Strong background in architecture patterns and enterprise design principles

- Experience building and scaling large distributed systems

Leadership Expectations:

- 14+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in senior leadership roles

- Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams

- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills

- Ability to mentor leaders and build succession pipelines

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
