Director Project Logistics (India)

Location: Mumbai / Delhi / Bangalore (Pan-India mandate)

Function: Project Logistics ODC, Heavy Lift, EPC, Industrial Projects

Reporting To: CEO / Group Managing Director

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned leader to head our Project Logistics vertical in India, driving strategy, growth, and execution across complex cargo movements.

This role carries full ownership of the Projects business, including P&L, commercial strategy, technical solutioning, and end-to-end execution of large-scale logistics operations across multimodal platforms (road, sea, air, RO-RO, and break-bulk).

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in ODC, heavy lift, EPC, and industrial project logistics, along with a proven track record of scaling high-impact logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & P&L Leadership

- Lead the pan-India Project Logistics business with full P&L ownership

- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for growth and capability expansion

- Identify new markets, partnerships, and service offerings

2. Business Development & Commercial Excellence

- Drive acquisition of project cargo across EPC, infrastructure, renewables, heavy engineering, and industrial sectors

- Lead RFQs, tendering, technical proposals, pricing, and negotiations

- Build strong relationships with carriers, EPC contractors, vendors, and partners

3. Technical Solution Design

- Assess feasibility of ODC & heavy lift movements

- Oversee preparation of method statements, lifting plans, route surveys, and risk assessments

- Ensure solutions are safe, compliant, and cost-effective

4. Operational Execution Oversight

- Manage end-to-end execution across multimodal logistics (road, sea, air, barge, charters)

- Coordinate with ports, CFS, transporters, crane operators, and surveyors

- Ensure timely delivery, cost control, SLA adherence, and documentation excellence

5. Leadership & Team Building

- Build and lead a high-performance Projects team across India

- Mentor project managers and strengthen technical and operational capabilities

- Establish SOPs, governance frameworks, and safety culture

6. Process, Compliance & Systems

- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and risk management standards

- Drive digitization and process improvements

- Standardise pricing, planning, and execution frameworks

Required Experience & Qualifications

- 1218+ years in Project Logistics / ODC / Heavy Lift / EPC logistics

- Strong expertise in multimodal project cargo operations and route planning

- Proven track record of leading and scaling a Projects business

- Strong network within Indias logistics and project cargo ecosystem

- Ability to manage large, complex, multi-location projects simultaneously

- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
