The Role :
As Director, Product - Operations, you will own product outcomes across SolarSquare's post-booking execution engine - from order management and project coordination through permit flows, EMI and financing execution, installation, commissioning and supply chain operations.. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role in a highly execution-driven environment, where product decisions directly affect throughput, cost efficiency, on-ground reliability, and the predictability of delivery at scale.
You will operate across multiple POD's and large business units, working closely with PM's, SPM's,
engineering, design, and business leaders to frame complex problems, shape scalable solutions, and close cross-functional trade-offs. While the role has significant scope and leverage, it also requires depth- stepping in to help teams think through workflows, system design, and PRDs when ambiguity, scale, or risk is high.
Scope of Responsibility :
- Own product outcomes across SolarSquare's post-booking operations backbone - order
management, project coordination, permits, supply chain execution, financing journeys, and
installation & commissioning.
- Be accountable for the reliability, throughput, and cost efficiency of SolarSquare's delivery
engine - with a mandate to shift real workflow execution into the system and eliminate the
offline coordination that constrains predictability and scale.
- Own the product surface connecting SolarSquare's operational systems to supply chain and ERP
infrastructure - ensuring reliable and comprehensive information flows.
- Identify and address structural bottlenecks and failure modes across complex, interdependent
systems using operational data, ground signals, and business context.
- Set clear product direction and priorities across multiple PM and SPM-owned areas, focusing on
reliability, throughput, cost efficiency, and exception reduction.
- Work hands-on with PMs and SPMs to frame complex, ambiguous problems, shape solution
approaches, and raise the quality of PRDs and solution design.
- Drive alignment and close trade-offs across operations, engineering, finance, and business
stakeholders, especially where ownership is unclear or incentives conflict.
- Balance short-term execution pressure with long-term system robustness, maintainability,
scalability, and resilience.
What Success Requires :
- 10-14+ years of product management experience, with meaningful exposure to operations,
supply chain, logistics, construction, or similarly complex execution-heavy domains.
- Proven ability to exercise system-level judgment in workflow-heavy, execution-critical
environments where product decisions have immediate business and operational consequences.
- Experience owning or shaping large, interdependent systems with real throughput constraints,
failure modes, and on-ground complexity.
- Exposure to supply chain, procurement, or ERP-adjacent product contexts is a plus.
- Experience managing multi-party workflows with external dependencies - permits, financing
partners, third-party vendors, or regulatory bodies.
- Comfort operating across multiple PODs and business units while maintaining depth where
decisions are irreversible or high-risk.
- Strong data fluency applied to operational outcomes - understanding bottlenecks, exceptions,
unit economics, and second-order effects.
- Hands-on leadership style - willing and able to engage deeply in problem framing, solution
design, and PRDs when leverage is highest.
- High credibility with senior operations and engineering leaders, built through judgment and
follow-through rather than authority.
- Demonstrated capability to lead, coach, and hold a high bar for PMs and cross-functional teams.
- A collaborative, low-ego working style that reinforces trust, accountability, and a non-toxic
execution culture at scale.
