About the Opportunity:

Our client is a boutique Investment bank, established in 2010, focused on M&A, Private Equity & Growth Capital, and Structured Finance across India and India-oriented cross-border transactions.

They are looking to hire a senior Investment Banking professional at the Director / Partner level to spearhead its expansion in Mumbai.

This is an entrepreneurial leadership opportunity for a proven deal-maker who is looking to move beyond a purely execution-oriented banking role, and take ownership of building a business, developing client relationships, originating transactions and driving P&L.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the development of the Mumbai franchise, with responsibility for building the office and establishing a strong market presence.

- Originate and lead investment banking transactions, including M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory mandates.

- Build and maintain senior relationships with promoters, CXOs, investors, PE/VC funds and other financial institutions.

- Independently identify and convert new business opportunities, while leveraging the broader Maple platform for execution and sector expertise.

- Take ownership of the end-to-end transaction lifecycle - from origination and pitching through structuring, negotiations and closure.

- Build and mentor a high-performing local team as the Mumbai franchise scales.

- Develop a strong pipeline of mandates and contribute directly to the firm's revenue and profitability.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 12 - 18+ years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Transaction Advisory, with a strong track record of completed transactions.

- Proven front-end deal-maker with meaningful experience in origination as well as transaction execution.

- Candidates at Director, Partner, Senior Director or equivalent levels from boutique investment banks or Big 4 transaction advisory practices.

- Strong preference for professionals who have operated successfully in entrepreneurial or lean environments and have demonstrated the ability to build business rather than only execute mandates.

- Strong commercial orientation with a clear interest in P&L ownership, franchise building and long-term wealth creation.

- Mumbai-based or willing to relocate to Mumbai.
