Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Director Operations to lead strategic and day-to-day operations across Pellet, Sponge Iron/DRI, SMS, Rolling Mills, Power Plant/CPP, Pipe Mill, FAD, Utilities and Logistics. The role will be responsible for driving safe, reliable, cost-efficient, quality-focused and compliant operations, while improving productivity, operational excellence and business performance.

Role & Responsibilities:

To provide strategic and daily operational leadership covering Pellet, Sponge Iron, SMS, Rolling Mills, Power Plant, Pipe Mill, FAD and Logistics. The role is accountable for safe, reliable, cost-efficient, quality-focused and compliant operations while driving productivity, process improvement, digital enablement, customer orientation and leadership capability across the plant.

- Integrated steel operations

- Production planning and scheduling

- OEE, yield and productivity improvement

- Cost, energy and consumption control

- Maintenance and shutdown governance

- Quality, SOP, 5S and audit discipline

- Safety and environmental compliance

- Digital operations, MIS and budgeting, Business strategy

Preferred Candidate Profile:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical or Production Engineering. MBA/PGDM in Operations.

Relevant Experience:

20 - 25 years in integrated steel or large process manufacturing, including senior leadership of multi-unit plant operations.

Industry Preference:

Integrated steel manufacturing experience preferred, covering Pellet/DRI, SMS, Rolling Mills, Power/CPP, Pipe Mill, FAD, Utilities and Logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end operations across multiple units of an integrated steel plant, ensuring production and business targets are achieved.

- Drive production planning, capacity utilization, OEE, yield, productivity and process efficiency.

- Optimize manufacturing cost, energy consumption, raw material usage and operational losses.

- Govern maintenance, plant reliability, shutdowns and equipment availability.

- Ensure adherence to quality standards, SOPs, 5S, audits and process discipline.

- Maintain strong focus on safety, environmental and statutory compliance.

- Drive digital operations, automation, MIS, analytics and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

- Lead budgeting, operational planning, performance reviews and continuous improvement programs.

- Identify and execute debottlenecking, modernization and productivity improvement initiatives.

- Build strong operational leadership teams and develop succession pipelines and organizational capabilities.

- Partner with senior leadership on business strategy, cost competitiveness, capacity optimization and growth initiatives.
