Hiring: Director - Non-Financial Risk Management

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced risk management leader to head the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) service delivery function for a leading global banking organisation. The role involves overseeing risk-related operations, strengthening governance and controls, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery to global stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in operational risk, risk and control frameworks, regulatory governance, and leading large teams in a global banking or financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the delivery of non-financial risk services for multiple international regions, ensuring quality, accuracy, timeliness and adherence to established standards.

- Oversee activities relating to Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), operational risk events, issue management and control testing.

- Drive risk reporting, governance reviews, management dashboards, audit support and regulatory information requests.

- Establish robust quality assurance mechanisms, review processes, performance metrics and escalation procedures.

- Analyse risk trends, recurring control weaknesses and emerging issues, ensuring appropriate follow-up and timely escalation.

- Work closely with global risk leaders, business teams, audit, compliance, technology and operations stakeholders.

- Build and develop high-performing teams, with clear accountability, effective resource planning and strong succession coverage.

- Lead initiatives to improve processes, standardise workflows, strengthen controls and increase automation.

- Support the expansion and transformation of risk services delivered through the India-based Global Capability Centre (GCC).

- Ensure appropriate documentation, data integrity, access controls and audit readiness across service delivery activities.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- 12+ years of experience in risk management within banking or financial services, including significant leadership responsibility.

- Strong understanding of Non-Financial Risk and Operational Risk frameworks, including RCSA, KRIs, risk events, issue management and control testing.

- Experience in risk governance, regulatory reporting, audit reviews and remediation activities.

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a global, matrixed organisation and manage senior stakeholder relationships.

- Experience in global service delivery, shared services or a GCC environment, preferably involving service transitions, scaling and operational transformation.

- Strong understanding of risk and control governance, quality assurance and the Three Lines of Defense model.

- Proven track record in process improvement, automation, data analysis and performance management.

- Excellent communication, analytical, decision-making and people leadership skills.

Education:

A bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline is required. A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification such as FRM, PRM, CIA, CPA, CISA or PMP would be an advantage.
