
Director - Model Development (Credit Risk/Market Risk) (15-20 yrs)
Role Summary:
Lead the development, implementation, and governance of credit risk models across retail and wholesale portfolios. Drive advanced analytics, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable data-driven credit decisioning across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end development of PD, LGD, EAD models for retail and wholesale portfolios.
- Build and enhance IFRS 9 / CECL expected credit loss (ECL) models
- Develop application scorecards, behavioral scorecards, and collections strategies
- Design stress testing and scenario-based credit risk models
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (Basel, IFRS 9, SR 11-7)
- Maintain robust model documentation, validation packs, and audit trails
- Partner with Model Validation, Risk, and Audit teams for approvals and reviews
- Drive adoption of machine learning, alternative data, and AI-driven models
- Lead automation, model industrialization, and cloud-based deployment
- Enhance model performance through continuous monitoring and recalibration
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience in credit risk modeling (PD, LGD, EAD)
- Hands-on expertise in Python, SAS, R, SQL
- Knowledge of statistical techniques (logistic regression, survival analysis, ML models)
- 12-18+ years of experience in credit risk / model development
- Proven track record of leading large teams and global stakeholders
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Engineering
- Exposure to GCC / global delivery models
