JOB TITLE : MARKETING DIRECTOR
RESPONSIBLE TO : Country General Manager.
SUBORDINATES : Product Managers, Group PMs, Marketing Managers, Digital Leader.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The marketing Director role involves leading the CMVD marketing strategy and execution. To operate both strategically and tactically on behalf of the Company and their defined products, through the management, motivation and development of the team. This role demands a visionary leader with a strong pharmaceutical background, capable of building and implementing robust marketing strategies tailored to the Indian market, leading cross-functional teams, challenging the status quo, and fostering a culture of innovation and high performance while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To comply with all Company procedures, rules and codes of practice, in particular observing confidentiality at all times and security of all documents in all matters relating to the Company's business. To ensure that company's business interests are always served and kept paramount. At all times, to maintain and to enhance the good image of the Company.
A] Strategic Marketing Leadership:
1. Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive business growth and increase market share in the pharmaceutical market
2. Develop and implement long-term brand and portfolio strategies aligned with global vision and India-specific market dynamics.
3. Conduct competitive analysis and market trend evaluations to identify growth opportunities across therapeutic areas.
4. Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed
5. Challenge existing paradigms and experiment with new marketing models, customer engagement tactics, and digital platforms.
6. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and industry partners
7. Lead the annual marketing planning process including market research, product positioning, segmentation, targeting, budgeting, and forecasting.
8. Build a structured marketing process that ensures alignment and synchronization with sales force activities, training, BEX (Business Excellence), medical affairs, regulatory, and supply chain functions.
9. Define KPIs and marketing ROI metrics to monitor effectiveness and course-correct where necessary.
10. Ensure all marketing activities comply with local regulatory requirements, industry codes, and internal standards.
11. Act as the central link between marketing, sales, medical, regulatory, training, and commercial excellence teams to ensure cohesive go-to-market execution.
12. Collaborate closely with global and regional marketing teams to leverage international insights and best practices.
13. Drive digital transformation within the marketing function; champion the use of digital channels (CRM, social media, digital detailing, HCP portals) to enhance engagement with healthcare professionals.
14. Use advanced analytics and real-world data to make informed strategic decisions and optimize customer targeting and messaging
15. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing team with a focus on upskilling, empowerment, and accountability.
16. Build a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture that encourages innovation and agility.
17. Actively manage talent pipelines and succession planning within the marketing department.
18. Promote a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education preferably in life sciences/business studies/marketing or related subject.
2. Experience: extensive management experience ( 15 years) including in sales environment in the pharmaceutical industry.
3. Proven experience in leading teams and cross-functional projects.
4. Demonstrated success in digital marketing and omnichannel engagement.
5. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex insights into clear action plans.
6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
