Director - Lease Operations & Collections

A leading mobility startup is hiring a Director - Lease Operations & Collections to own end-to-end lease lifecycle governance and cash collections across its HCV leasing portfolio.

This is a control, monitoring, and intervention role focused on ensuring collections run as contracted, escrow mechanisms function seamlessly, risks are surfaced early, and structured corrective actions are executed in a timely manner.

The role will build lease operations from the ground up with direct impact on cash flows and risk outcomes, working closely with leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Own post-execution lease governance, ensuring accurate setup of terms and covenants

- Monitor escrow-based collections, reconciliations, balances, and waterfall performance

- Track portfolio collection health, DPD trends, and early warning indicators

- Define breach triggers and lead timely interventions for payment or covenant deviations

- Manage defaults, restructurings, and recoveries with Credit, Legal, and Finance teams

- Oversee escrow governance and serve as the primary interface with banks and trustees

- Drive cross-functional coordination across Leasing, Fleet, Finance, Legal, and Tech

- Deliver regular leadership reporting on collections, risk trends, and loss forecasts

What We're Looking For

- 12+ years of experience in lease operations, collections, or credit operations

- Strong exposure to asset leasing, structured finance, escrow mechanisms, and LMS platforms

- Experience in NBFCs, leasing companies, or infrastructure finance preferred

- Highly process-oriented, data-driven, and comfortable working across Legal, Finance, and Operations

- Ability to balance automation with timely judgment and intervention
