About the client:

We are working with a global market leader in the beauty and consumer space that operates a dedicated Corporate Venture Capital arm investing in high-growth, innovation-led businesses across Beauty, Wellness, Health, and Beauty-Tech ecosystems.

The organisation is looking to appoint an Investment Director - India to lead venture investments and ecosystem development across the Indian market.

Role Overview:

This role will be responsible for leading the end-to-end investment lifecycle in India from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to executing transactions and managing portfolio value creation. The position combines venture investing, strategic corporate development, and ecosystem leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investment Sourcing & Ecosystem Development

- Identify and evaluate high-growth startups across beauty brands, platforms, biotech, and beauty-tech.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, VC/PE funds, accelerators, and ecosystem stakeholders.

- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and startup forums.

2. Due Diligence & Deal Execution

- Lead commercial, financial, and strategic due diligence.

- Drive valuation analysis, structuring, negotiations, and deal closure.

- Coordinate with legal, finance, and global stakeholders for seamless execution.

3. Strategic Synergy & Internal Alignment

- Collaborate with business units to identify strategic fit and value creation opportunities.

- Act as a bridge between startups and corporate leadership.

4. Portfolio Management

- Monitor portfolio performance (financial and operational).

- Support reinvestment and exit decisions.

- Contribute to long-term investment thesis refinement.

Candidate Profile

- 10 - 15 years of experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking (M&A), or Corporate Development.

- Strong deal execution track record (closed transactions mandatory).

- Experience evaluating high-growth consumer, tech, wellness, or innovation-led businesses.

- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.

- Exposure to both corporate and startup environments preferred.

- High analytical rigor with strong stakeholder management ability.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work independently.
