Director - International Business (Exports Division)

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat (Head Office - Preferred)

Open to candidates willing to relocate

Compensation: 30 LPA

Key Responsibilities:

As the Director of the full Exports Division, the candidate will have end-to-end ownership of all verticals within international business division of the company - including Sales, Business Development, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Product Development, Regulatory, Human Resources, Logistics, Documentation, Finance Coordination, Legal Compliance, Customer Service, and other Operations. This role demands strategic oversight and hands-on leadership across all export-related functions, ensuring alignment with global standards and driving the company's international growth.

1. Strategic Leadership

- Develop and execute a 3-5 year global expansion strategy for the company's product portfolio.

- Identify and prioritize high-potential regions and institutional clients.

- Lead go-to-market planning, market entry models, and long-term sales strategies for exports.

2. Market Expansion & Business Development

- Identify and appoint overseas distributors, super stockists, and country partners in key geographies.

- Forge high-value partnerships with global bodies (e.g., UN, WHO, WFP, NGOs, governments, military procurement arms).

- Explore opportunities in emerging economies, duty-free outlets, cross-border trade hubs, and diaspora-focused markets.

3. Sales & Revenue Ownership

- Deliver targeted export revenue growth across channels and geographies.

- Define pricing strategies, incentive plans, and trade terms in line with international market dynamics.

- Drive sales funnel and lead conversion across both institutional and retail trade channels.

4. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

- Ensure export compliance with regulatory frameworks, customs laws, and destination-country labeling/norms.

- Coordinate with legal, logistics, and international trade consultants to minimize risk and ensure smooth clearances.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- R&D, production, and packaging to align product specs with global standards and certifications (e.g., FSSAI, FDA, Halal, ISO).

- Collaborate with marketing to build internationally relevant brand collateral and campaigns.

6. Team Building & Leadership

- Build a high-performing exports team including regional sales heads, business development managers, and logistics coordinators.

- Create and implement SOPs for international business operations, reporting, and performance tracking.

Preferred Profile:

- Minimum 10 years of experience in international sales, export management, or global business development, preferably in FMCG, food & beverage, or pharma.

- Demonstrated track record of scaling exports or setting up international sales operations from scratch.

- Global mindset with deep understanding of diverse cultures, regulatory environments, and trading systems.

- Strong relationships with distributors, trade bodies, and institutional procurement divisions.

- Knowledge of export documentation, foreign currency transactions, LC/DD payment modes, and global logistics.

Education:

- MBA / PGDM in International Business, Sales & Marketing, or similar discipline.

- Additional certifications in export-import or international trade compliance preferred.
