Job Description :

- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, CFA) is strongly preferred.

- 10 - 15 years of experience in finance or accounting functions, with a strong preference for candidates with Treasury, FTP and Hedge accounting expertise.

- Deep technical knowledge of Treasury Product Control and Valuation Control frameworks (e.g., IAS 39) and practical experience in financial instrument valuation.

- Demonstrated success in designing and executing controllership, hedge accounting strategies across multiple risk types.

- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to apply judgment in data-driven decisions.

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly accomplished finance professional to lead our Treasury Product Control and Valuation Control functions. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end controllership of treasury products, driving the design and execution of robust hedge accounting strategies across multiple risk types.

The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in financial instrument valuation (IAS 39/IFRS 9) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), coupled with a strong control mindset. Beyond technical accounting, this role requires a charismatic leader who can influence cross-functional stakeholders, mentor a large finance team, and coach the next generation of financial leaders.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Treasury Product & Valuation Control (Core Technical) :

- Oversee the daily Treasury Product Control framework, ensuring accurate P&L reporting, balance sheet substantiation, and independent price verification for a complex portfolio of financial instruments.

- Lead the Valuation Control function, ensuring adherence to IAS 39/IFRS 9 guidelines and implementing robust fair-value adjustments (FVA, XVA) and prudential valuation practices.

- Manage the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) mechanism, ensuring appropriate allocation of treasury costs and funding benefits across business lines.

2. Hedge Accounting & Controllership Strategy :

- Design, execute, and continuously refine hedge accounting strategies across multiple risk types (e.g., interest rate, currency, and commodity risks) to mitigate earnings volatility.

- Drive the overall controllership agenda, establishing strong internal controls over financial reporting related to treasury activities.

- Evaluate and implement accounting policies for new financial products, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Partnering :

- Act as a trusted finance advisor to business heads, trading desks, and risk management teams, providing data-driven insights into the financial impact of trading strategies.

- Collaborate effectively with technology teams to automate and streamline product control systems, enhancing data integrity and reporting efficiency.

4. Leadership & Team Management :

- Manage, retain, and mentor a large, high-performing team of controllers and analysts.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence; actively coach and develop emerging leaders to build a sustainable talent pipeline.

Qualifications & Experience :

Education :

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.

- A Masters degree (MBA/M.Sc. Finance) or a professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, CFA) is strongly preferred.

Professional Experience :

- 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting functions within a financial services environment.

- Must-have expertise: Demonstrated, hands-on experience in Treasury, FTP (Funds Transfer Pricing), and Hedge Accounting.

Technical Knowledge :

- Deep, practical knowledge of Treasury Product Control and Valuation Control frameworks.

- Proven experience applying IAS 39 (and/or IFRS 9) to complex financial instruments.

- Strong product knowledge across core business products (e.g., derivatives, fixed income, FX, loans).
