Director & Head of Manufacturing Operations
Role Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to take the helm as our Director & Head of Manufacturing Operations in Gurgaon/Gurugram. This pivotal role involves orchestrating the entire manufacturing lifecycle, from strategic planning and operational execution to driving continuous improvement and ensuring world-class product quality.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance, while reporting directly to senior leadership. This position is instrumental in shaping our operational strategy, optimizing production efficiency, managing significant P&L responsibilities, and ultimately delivering superior products that drive market leadership and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will directly impact our profitability, market competitiveness, and the overall operational excellence of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a robust manufacturing operational strategy, aligning production capabilities with overall business objectives and market demands to maximize output and efficiency.
- Assume full P&L accountability for manufacturing operations, meticulously managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying strategic opportunities for financial growth and operational savings.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of plant operations as the Production Head/Plant Head, ensuring seamless production flow, optimal resource utilization, and strict adherence to production schedules and targets.
- Establish and rigorously enforce stringent quality control standards and processes across all manufacturing stages, guaranteeing product excellence and consistent customer satisfaction.
- Direct strategic procurement activities for raw materials and components, optimizing supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring a resilient and cost-effective supply chain.
- Implement and champion comprehensive safety management programs and environmental compliance initiatives, fostering a proactive culture of zero incidents and sustainable operations.
- Spearhead critical manufacturing project management initiatives, including capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and process re-engineering, from conceptualization through successful implementation.
- Develop, manage, and monitor detailed operational budgets, ensuring fiscal discipline and optimal allocation of resources to achieve ambitious manufacturing goals.
- Drive continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma across all manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and boost overall productivity.
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing manufacturing teams, cultivating an environment of accountability, innovation, and continuous professional development.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated deep expertise in end-to-end manufacturing operations, supply chain management, advanced quality assurance systems, and modern production methodologies.
- Proven track record in P&L management and strategic budgeting for large-scale manufacturing units, with a clear ability to drive financial performance.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities, adept at inspiring, motivating, and developing diverse, high-performing teams.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively influence senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
- Excellent analytical acumen and complex problem-solving abilities, capable of making data-driven decisions in a dynamic environment.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Chemical) is essential; an MBA or an advanced degree in Operations Management is highly preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment, demonstrating strategic foresight, resilience, and adaptability in an on-site role based in Gurgaon/Gurugram.
