Role specs : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Governance, Risk, and Compliance Services (GRCS) as a Director. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, internal financial control, enterprise risk management, and governance risk. This role will primarily focus on financial services, specifically banking and investment banking, and requires a strong track record in business development, portfolio management, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: Internal Audit Leadership (80%): - Oversee and manage end-to-end internal audit processes. - Ensure compliance with SOX, internal financial controls (IFC), and enterprise risk management (ERM) standards. - Develop and implement governance risk frameworks and strategies. - Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for risk mitigation. - SOX Compliance and Internal Financial Control (IFC) - Ensure adherence to SOX regulations and internal financial control procedures. - Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. - Provide guidance and support to the team on SOX and IFC-related matters. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): - Develop and maintain ERM frameworks to identify, assess, and manage risks. - Collaborate with senior management to integrate risk management strategies into business operations. - Monitor and report on the effectiveness of ERM initiatives. Governance Risk: - Develop and implement governance risk policies and procedures. - Ensure compliance with governance standards and best practices. - Provide training and awareness programs on governance risk. - Business Development and Portfolio Management - Drive business development activities, including cross-selling and upselling GRCS services. - Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention. - Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the financial services sector. Team Management: - Lead and mentor a team of GRCS professionals. - Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. - Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to team members. Travel: - Be open to travel as required to meet with clients and manage projects. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is preferred but not mandatory. - Extensive experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, internal financial control (IFC), enterprise risk management (ERM), and governance risk. - Proven experience in the financial services sector, specifically banking and investment banking. - Strong business development skills, with experience in cross-selling and upselling services. - Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of clients and lead a team. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. - Willingness to travel as required. Preferred Skills: - Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in the financial services sector. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. - Proficiency in using audit and risk management software and tools.
