ROLE MANDATE:
Director - Global Capital Markets & Strategy:
Reports to: Managing Director
Role Overview:
We are seeking a senior leader to drive the companys global capital markets strategy, investor franchise, strategic partnerships, and inorganic growth agenda. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to top management and global stakeholders.
The company is on a defined growth trajectory scaling from a current AUM of 35,000 Cr to 1,00,000 Cr by 2030 and 2,00,000 Cr by 2034, with a parallel ambition of taking market capitalisation from 21,000 Cr today to 1,00,000 Cr by 2034.
The incumbent will have a seat at the table within the strategy team and core management group, helping shape and deliver this growth with meaningful wealth creation alongside the journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Investor Induction (5,000-7,000 Cr):
- Lead the process to onboard a strategic partner acquiring a 2025% stake in the company.
- Mandate already awarded to: Citibank and Jefferies.
- Drive global investor engagement across Japan, UAE, and the US.
- Position the company in line with recent marquee sector transactions (e.g., Sammaan Capital, Shriram Finance, Avendus transactions).
2. Transformation & Strategic Growth:
- Work closely with consulting partners: Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company.
- Support enterprise-wide transformation across technology, data science, and AI-led initiatives.
- Align capital strategy with the long-term growth roadmap.
3. M&A and Corporate Development:
- Evaluate and execute strategic M&A opportunities across gold loans, affordable housing, and unsecured lending / fintech.
- Work on an active deal pipeline and drive execution of value-accretive opportunities.
4. Housing Finance - Capital Raise & IPO:
- Lead private equity fundraising for the housing finance business.
- Drive IPO readiness and listing execution.
5. Global Debt Capital Markets (DCM):
- The company intends to raise a USD bond in the international markets every year to fund its lending growth; the incumbent will own this annual issuance program end-to-end.
- End-to-end ownership of issuance including investor engagement, roadshows, pricing, and execution.
- Coordinate each year with the appointed global banking partners (such as Citibank, Barclays, and Deutsche Bank) to take the bond to market.
- Build and manage relationships with global rating agencies such as Moodys and Fitch Ratings, among others to secure and sustain the ratings required for repeat issuance.
- Build a strong global fixed income investor base and ensure repeat market access.
6. Equity Investor Relations & Institutional Franchise:
- Drive an increase in institutional shareholding and investor quality.
- Build and manage relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and brokerage houses.
- Lead earnings calls, investor days, and ongoing investor communication.
- Conduct international investor outreach across Singapore, Hong Kong, and the US.
Candidate Profile:
- 15+ years of experience across investment banking, capital markets, investor relations, or strategy.
- Strong global exposure and relationships with institutional investors and financial sponsors.
- Proven track record in fundraising (debt/equity), M&A, and strategic transactions.
- Experience in NBFCs, financial services, or banking preferred.
- Experience within a Fixed Income Group covering Banks and NBFCs at an Investment Banking Division will be an added advantage.
- Ability to operate in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment with board-level visibility.
