Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting, Analysis & Transparency
- Supervise the preparation and accuracy of all financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, timelines and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop robust monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes, to ensure they accurately reflect the companys true financial position.
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts and financial reports to UK Directors, offering meaningful insight into business performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial needs to support smooth operations.
- Collaborate with all areas of the business to integrate financial forecasts with operational planning.
- Conduct thorough product costing processes and margin analysis to support pricing and profitability assessments.
- Supervise day-to-day accounting of finance and accounting team, vendor reconciliation, ledger scrutiny and payroll processing.
- Maintain strong relationships with banking partners; oversee reconciliations, payments, and cash management.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning
- Lead the preparation of the annual financial budget and accurately forecast for strategic planning and decision-making.
- Monitor and analyse actual financial performance against budgets and forecasted figures, identify variances, and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls
- Coordinate with statutory auditors to facilitate audit procedures, preparing data as and when required by auditors.
- Manage the year-end close process and prepare audit-ready schedules and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant taxation and regulatory requirements, including GST, TDS, and statutory filings.
- Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and information, and prevent fraudulent activity.
- Stay updated with changes in regulatory frameworks and implement proactive measures to ensure ongoing compliance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to junior members of the finance team.
- Build capability within the department and create a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Develop KRAs for the team, set expectations, monitor performance, and guide the team towards best practices in accounting and financial reporting.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications: CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent professional finance qualification is essential. Evidence of continual professional development is a plus.
- Experience: The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years experience in finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position. Manufacturing experience is essential, preferably in a garment or textile industry.
- Leadership: Significant experience as a direct line manager and as a member of a senior leadership team is essential. You will set the standard with a hands-on approach to all financial tasks. You will demonstrate success and inspire your team with actions, ownership and by delivering improvements.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, tax compliance, and audit processes in India
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems/ERPs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Hindi and English (spoken and written) for reporting to UK stakeholders
- Ability to simplify complex data and present financial information in a clear, concise manner
- High attention to detail, ethical integrity, and sound commercial judgment
- Ability to foster a respectful and collaborative working environment, focusing on performance and productivity
