Technology Director/ED/MD - Risk & Finance Data

Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad

Role Purpose

Risk & Finance Data will lead the design, implementation, and management of data platforms and analytics solutions for the Risk & Finance functions. This role is responsible for driving enterprise-wide data strategies, leveraging cloud technologies, AI, and modern data engineering to support informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Leadership & Strategy

- Define and execute the technology roadmap for Risk & Finance data platforms.

- Lead the adoption of cloud-first strategies, including Snowflake, Databricks, and other modern data platforms.

- Drive innovation using AI/ML capabilities to deliver predictive and prescriptive insights.

- Ensure alignment of data initiatives with enterprise architecture and business priorities.

2. Data Platform & Architecture

- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of large-scale data platforms.

- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across Risk & Finance datasets.

- Lead migration, integration, and optimization of on-premise and cloud-based data environments.

- Promote best practices in data modeling, pipelines, and analytics frameworks.

3. Team Leadership & Capability Building

- Build a high-performing, innovative, and collaborative team culture.

- Mentor and upskill team members on cloud technologies, AI/ML, and advanced analytics.

- Drive talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.

4. Stakeholder Management

- Act as the primary technology partner to Risk & Finance business leaders.

- Engage with senior management to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

5. Governance & Compliance

- Ensure data solutions comply with regulatory and internal standards.

- Implement robust data governance, security, and access management practices.

- Provide oversight of audit and regulatory requirements as they relate to technology platforms.

6. Transformation & Innovation

- Lead digital transformation initiatives within Risk & Finance.

- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and analytical capability.

- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

- Total Experience: 20+ years, with strong leadership experience in large technology organizations.

Technical Expertise:

- Cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)

- Data engineering, architecture, and governance

- AI/ML implementation in enterprise data environments

Leadership Skills:

- Driving enterprise-scale technology initiatives

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, able to influence senior stakeholders.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
