About the Organization:
Our client is a large, diversified financial services group with strong capabilities across investment banking, asset management, and wealth advisory. The firm is looking to hire a Head Equity Capital Markets to lead its ECM business, drive origination, and manage end-to-end execution of equity transactions across sectors.
Role Overview:
The Head Equity Capital Markets will be responsible for leading the ECM function, including origination, structuring, syndication, and execution of equity and equity-linked transactions. The role requires strong client relationships, deep market understanding, and proven expertise in managing IPOs, QIPs, Rights Issues, and other capital market transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Equity Capital Markets vertical and drive business strategy, growth, and profitability.
- Originate and execute equity and equity-linked deals such as IPOs, FPOs, QIPs, Rights Issues, and Preferential Allotments.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporates, promoters, institutional investors, PE funds, and regulators (SEBI, Stock Exchanges, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with the Investment Banking, Research, and Sales & Trading teams to structure and execute transactions efficiently.
- Identify new market opportunities and lead pitch presentations and transaction mandates.
- Oversee due diligence, documentation, and compliance processes with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide strategic insights on market conditions, valuation trends, and investor sentiment.
- Build and mentor a high-performing ECM team and drive execution excellence.
Key Requirements:
- CA / MBA / CFA or equivalent qualification.
- 15 to 20 years of experience in Investment Banking / Equity Capital Markets with a proven track record of deal origination and execution.
- Strong relationships with promoters, corporate CFOs, and institutional investors.
- Deep understanding of capital markets, SEBI regulations, and transaction structuring.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead complex transactions independently and manage multiple stakeholders.
