Position Overview:
The Director of Engineering will lead our engineering teams in designing, developing, and maintaining world-class telecommunications systems and infrastructure.
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality network solutions, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and mentor cross-functional engineering teams focused on telecom networks, systems integration, and infrastructure.
- Define and execute engineering strategies aligned with organizational objectives and evolving industry trends (e.g , 5G, IoT, fiber optics).
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of network infrastructure, including core, access, and transport networks.
- Ensure compliance with telecommunications regulations, security standards, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Sales teams to align technical solutions with customer needs.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Oversee vendor management, including evaluation, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for network performance, reliability, and engineering delivery.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and teamwork.
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership on progress, risks, and strategic opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering roles within the telecommunications industry, with at least 3-5 years in leadership positions.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale telecom projects, such as network rollouts, upgrades, or systems integration.
- Deep understanding of telecom technologies (e.g , 4G/5G, LTE, fiber, IP/MPLS, OSS/BSS systems).
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g , ITU, 3GPP).
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Experience with Agile or other modern engineering methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Tier-1 telecom operators or large-scale infrastructure vendors.
- Expertise in network security, SDN/NFV, or cloud-based network services.
- Experience with vendor and contract management for large-scale network projects.
- Familiarity with telecom regulatory environments in [your country/region].
