Job Purpose:

- Provide Strategic Vision for Centre for Industry and Academic Partnership (CIAP) within the verticals - Industry Partnership, Alumni Association, Career Services & Innovation to define medium and long term direction and priorities.

- Lead on developing, communicating and successfully delivering the CIAP's strategy, including inspiring continuous performance improvement

- Build a dynamic and forward-looking approach to the CIAP's overall development with strong intellectual leadership, understanding and harnessing the University's comprehensive subject range, in the context of a global, research-intensive university

- Provide an environment in which the staff become leaders and innovators

- Ensure operational excellence and sustainability.

Key Accountability:

Strategic:

- Strategize and plan the vision and specific annual goals for successful alumni engagement, Career Services & Internships, Industry Partnership and Innovation activities in line with organisational objectives

- Create the strategy for developing, nurturing and maximising internal and external partnerships and relationships

- Guide & provide directions on planning, development, implementation, and promotion of the programmes that support the Alumni Engagement, Career Services & Internships, Industry Partnership and Innovation goals

- Develop and implement strategies and agenda in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure Centre for Industry & Academic Partnership of MIT WPU is positioned to develop a global reputation for both research and academic excellence and impact.

Research Development:

- Build ecosystem to enhance research and consultation for faculty

- Mentor School leaders and Faculty to build capability around Research Development.

- Promote the ethical conduct of research and ensure compliance with relevant international, national, and local regulations, as well as Institute's policies

Financial and Budget:

- Oversee all financial decisions of CIAP including setting and monitoring budgets, and ensuring clear, independent financial audit.

- Ensure that financial and budgetary policies, systems, and process are seamless and easy to understand.

- Support the dissemination and commercialization of discoveries; and assure legal compliance with proper and ethical research practices.

Collaborations:

- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Heads of Schools, other support services like; career services, internships and industry partnership teams, parents, students, student affairs and alumni

- Promote the culture of positivity, collaboration, continuous improvement, and commitment to quality in all aspects of CIAP's activities

Academic:

- Integrate state of the art technology/automation in the academic area to build superior experience to all the stakeholders - Internal and External.

- Enhance quality standard and performance efficiency of all the verticals within CIAP External Representation

- Represent MIT WPU Institute in various higher-education conferences and seminars in order to increase the concerned program and the institute's visibility at the regional and international levels

- Remain abreast of the best practices in the relevant areas

Person Specification:

Substantial leadership and management experience

- The personal characteristics to have a substantial experience and a successful record of senior leadership at institutional level either in a research-intensive university with a broad range of academic subjects, or in a large and complex organisation with similarities to higher education

- Evidence of developing, communicating and executing a vision and strategy in a complex organisation, Proven Transformation Leadership in a sizeable organisation

- Demonstrated personal leadership of creating new benchmark of performance and have proven record of performance improvement and change at an organisational level;

- Financial acumen and experience, and commercial awareness, which demonstrate the ability to strategically manage, optimise and be accountable for the management of resources

- A proven track record of developing leaders and leadership teams, and the ability to work effectively with those teams;

- A commitment to the highest standards of governance, experience of working effectively with governing bodies or boards and external members, and the ability to operate confidently and effectively in an externally regulated environment.

Intellectual credibility:

- A high level of intellectual credibility, with a strong academic or other intellectual profile, in order to lead, engage with, and gain the respect of the staff, demonstrating curiosity and interest in the broad range of disciplines within CIAP.

Research:

- The ability to lead a comprehensive large CIAP division, demonstrating an understanding of the and the strategies for enhancing the performance;

- An appreciation of how the CIAP can harness the power of its comprehensive capabilities to produce impactful and meaningful external partnerships;

Education and student experience :

External relations and Corporate engagement:

- The ability to advocate at the highest levels regionally and nationally on behalf of the University and to influence the decision maker.

- Experience of collaboration with Corporate sector and building partnership between academia and industry.

Personal attributes and style:

- A strong commitment to MIT WPU and its vision, ambitions, and values

- The ability and confidence to lead and work effectively with an experienced and capable senior leadership team, empowering leaders at all levels to deliver the Division's ambitions;

- The ability to relate to and communicate effectively with staff at all levels in the Division,
engaging them with the University's vision and plans; n

- A personal commitment to and record in effective and respectful partnership working across all staff groups;

- Sound judgement and the ability and courage to make difficult but informed decisions, including on challenging issues;

- Exceptional personal and public communication and relations

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

- Master in any Stream preferably MBA

- 12 to 18 years of experience in Corporate with minimum 5 years experience in Higher Education

- Experience of working in premier universities is desirable
