Position: Director - Center of Excellence Lead Department: Data Centre Operations Location: Mumbai Reporting to: DC Operations Function Head About the Role: The Director - Center of Excellence Lead will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, innovation, and compliance across a national network of data centres. The role requires deep domain knowledge of data centre operations, a strong focus on standardization, automation, training, and compliance governance. Key Responsibilities : Operational Excellence & Innovation: - Standardize and automate operational processes across data centres (incident, change, and problem management). - Drive innovation and best practices to streamline data centre operations. - Benchmark processes against industry standards and implement enhancements. - Build technology-driven dashboards for enhanced management visibility. Training & Capability Building: - Design and implement a training framework to upskill employees annually. - Promote a culture of continuous learning aligned with industry trends. - Identify skills gaps and align training with evolving technologies. Compliance & Governance: - Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance checklists for all DC operations. - Conduct regular internal/external audits with a proactive approach to non-compliance. - Coordinate with regulatory bodies and manage timely response mechanisms. - Drive certification efforts and ensure regulatory adherence across all sites. - Lead governance initiatives, reporting, and risk register management. Reporting & Performance Management: - Build mature reporting mechanisms to monitor operational and compliance metrics. - Maintain weekly trackers and a Risk & Issue Register. - Facilitate regular management reviews (monthly/quarterly). Vendor & Spare Management: - Monitor partner/vendor performance in coordination with supply chain. - Improve spare part management practices across locations. Desired Candidate Profile: Education: - B.E/B.Tech or equivalent engineering degree. - Data centre industry experience preferred. Work Experience: - 20+ years of experience in data centre operations or a related technical field. Technical Skills: - Strong understanding of data centre operations and process frameworks. - Expertise in data analysis, reporting, and preparing customized dashboards. - Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Soft Skills: - Strong ownership mindset and collaboration skills. - Excellent follow-up, listening, and task management capabilities. - Customer-centric with a positive and proactive attitude. - Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. - Willingness to travel as required. Interaction: - Frequent engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
