Director - Business Development with a Global MNC in Industrial Product


Position Overview:

- Director - Business Development: this is a strategic and people leadership role responsible for developing and implementing segment strategies across India.

- The role involves leading and coaching a team of business developers to enhance their competence, enabling them to effectively communicate the organization's value proposition and win key commercial opportunities.

- You will collaborate closely with sales teams in India and segment management teams across Asia and Europe, ensuring alignment and successful execution of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead & Develop Team: Coach and mentor business developers to strengthen their technical, commercial, and strategic capabilities.

- Drive Segment Strategy: Define and refine segment strategies by analyzing market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.

- Customer Engagement: Build and sustain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, influencing strategic buying decisions and driving profitable growth.

- Business Growth: Identify opportunities for local applications and new business models to expand the customer base and revenue streams.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in close partnership with matrix stakeholders across geographies to ensure seamless acquisition and execution of projects.

- Strategic Planning: Create actionable roadmaps, set objectives, and monitor performance metrics for the team and the segment.

- Innovation & Agility: Challenge existing processes, explore new approaches, and adapt strategies to align with evolving industry trends.

Qualifications & Experience:

- MBA from a tier 1 institution (India or abroad) and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

- Proven experience in team leadership and business development roles within industrial, energy, or construction-related sectors.

- Experience managing P&L responsibilities will be an advantage.

- Strong business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think strategically and act operationally.

- Excellent techno-commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

- Superior communication and presentation abilities.
