Director Audit & Assurance

As the Director Audit & Assurance, you will lead the design and execution of the internal audit and assurance framework. You will be responsible for driving operational, regulatory, financial, and IT audits to ensure compliance, integrity, and risk mitigation across the organization. This is a strategic role that will work closely with leadership, regulators, and key stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the internal control environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the internal audit function, including annual audit planning, execution, and reporting.

- Develop and implement the internal audit strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management practices.

- Oversee operational, financial, compliance, and IT audits across business units and processes.

- Collaborate with external auditors, regulators, and other assurance providers.

- Present audit findings to senior leadership and the board audit committee with clear, actionable insights.

- Ensure continuous improvement in audit methodology, data-driven auditing, and automation of audit procedures.

- Monitor emerging risks in the fintech landscape and proactively update audit scope and priorities.

- Drive a culture of risk-awareness and accountability across departments through effective communication and training.

Qualifications & Skills:

- CA / CPA / CIA / CISA or equivalent certification is mandatory.

- Minimum 12 years of experience in audit, assurance, or internal controls preferably in banking, fintech, or financial services.

- Proven track record in building and scaling internal audit functions.

- Strong understanding of fintech regulatory frameworks, including RBI guidelines, PCI DSS, SOC2, etc.

- Hands-on experience with risk-based audit planning, reporting tools, and analytics.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- High ethical standards and strong judgment.

Preferred Attributes:

- Experience with product audits, payment gateways, lending platforms, or API-driven ecosystems.

- Exposure to audit automation tools and real-time monitoring systems.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with evolving regulations.
