Title: Director, Application Engineering

Experience: 20 - 25 Years

Location: Chennai (Hybrid)

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise eCommerce and digital platforms

- Drive technology strategy, architecture decisions, and platform modernization initiatives

- Manage multiple engineering teams through managers, ensuring delivery excellence and scalability

- Partner with Product, Business, and Operations teams to align technology with business goals

- Improve release cycles, engineering productivity, and platform performance

- Drive Agile, DevOps, and automation practices across the SDLC

- Introduce process improvements and AI-led efficiencies in engineering workflows

- Ensure platform stability, SLA adherence, and operational excellence

Requirements:

- 20+ years of IT experience with strong background in Java/J2EE-based enterprise systems

- 8+ years in eCommerce platforms (enterprise-scale)

- Proven experience managing large, globally distributed teams (3050+ members)

- Strong expertise in system architecture, microservices, APIs, and cloud environments

- Experience in Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and engineering transformation initiatives

- Strong stakeholder management and ability to work in an OnsiteOffshore model

- Experience in driving process improvements, delivery excellence, and platform scalability
