Mast Global Services India   PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES  POSITION TITLE: AVP/Director, Application Development   DEPARTMENT: Mast Global India Services, Application  REPORTS TO: General Manager, Mast Global India Services; Matrix to SVP Application Services   SUPERVISES: 4 Direct Report Managers, team size ~75+  PURPOSE:  - To direct an organization whose mission is to plan, execute, maintain a technology strategy and provide operational steady state support for the solutions that support the process and applications in the Mast Global portfolio of Specialty Retail Applications including ERP/SAP systems (Finance/FICO, Manufacturing, Master Data, BASIS, ABAP development), Middleware (TIBCO/Data Stage), Demand Chain (PkMS, EDI, GTS, Merchandise Planning) Enterprise Data Warehouse (Teradata, MSI, Analytics), Human Resources (Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Time and Attendance, Learning and Development and Compensation).  - This position will provide project leadership, strategic direction, business analysis, systems analysis and design and will have significant interaction with all levels of the on and offshore technology organization, the IT senior leadership, in support of developing the technology initiatives.   - This role will partner very closely with the Director of IT Services to support the engagement of associates as they learn the culture, process, and communication, and technology of Mast Global. In addition, responsibilities include direct accountability for delivery of the technical support required to run the 24/7 day-to-day business of Mast Global Technology India to support all L Brands functions and brands.   RESPONSIBILITIES:  Application Support/Delivery   - Leads the group in providing best in class operational and steady state support for the application layer that includes break fix, maintenance, enhancements, and incident management  - Provides strategic guidance in supporting the evolution of the new office with supporting on/off shore teams and delivering value to the organization  - Understands the application, technical and business processes supporting the special retail platform for L Brands in the key areas of Demand Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Shared Services and Business Intelligence. Based upon this understanding, proceeds then to develop, present, and obtain agreement on the technology strategy  - Manages and leads the application development teams by supporting the technical requirements, application activities of issue management, release management, testing, application development, project support, while supporting the overall maintenance and health of the applications  - Communicates and fosters a strong relationship with the cross-functional Mast Global Technology partners  - Understands and drives key software product development concepts including requirement meeting facilitation, software development, project management, and software version control  - Manages strong vendor relationships with key suppliers who support these areas. Actively participates in partner meetings and on Steering Committee or Advisory Board meetings  - Works closely with the onshore technical and business partners, and other key stakeholders to connect technology solutions to the short and long term technology and application support strategy to include global solutions  - Communicates and maintains relationship with Level 1 and Level 2 support organizations to understand quality and support issues for consideration in future software product releases  - Consult with onshore technology leaders to understand their business plans and to define technology requirements  - Identify innovative, cost effective ways to meet business requirements  - Utilize accepted Mast Global Technology methodology and processes, where appropriate, to deliver applications maintenance and support  - Interfaces with cross-functional teams where system interface activity may occur  - Provide technical leadership that can span different areas of concentration including application development, project management and technical support   - Provides leadership direction to support the ITIL processes as well as contributing to future ITIL activities   - Contribute to process improvement areas included ITIL, communication, demand forecasting, vendor management as the on and offshore models evolve  Talent   - Develop and retain talent through:  - Performance evaluation process  - Continual assessment of staff to understand training and career development requirements.  - Developing and monitoring associate training plans and career development plans.  - Actively contributes to and fosters a strong team-oriented, customer-focused departmental culture  - Recruit and retain key IT talent that support both the current and future needs of the business   Project Delivery and Financial   - Track and report on Mast Global technology activity (service, projects, support) to the General Manger, India and the MGT leadership team on shore  - Possess strong financial acumen to develop and track budget and financial reports as well as developing appropriate mechanisms to understand when not tracking to budget and take corrective action  - The Director must exhibit strong project planning and execution skills.   - Can translate business requirements into complex conceptual models and workable systems designs  QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCED REQUIRED:  - 15-20 years experience in Information Technology  - 10+ years experience in Information Technology leadership/management   - 7+ years in application development experience  - 5-7 years experience implementing and supporting ERP technologies including Shared Services of testing, middleware or application development   - The Director must possess strong operations and maintenance experience, project planning and execution skills. Can translate business requirements into complex conceptual models and workable systems designs  - Demonstrated ability to manage large system development projects with a budget over $3 million and a staff of 100+  - Demonstrated ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced, highly relationship driven environment  - Ability to dynamically prioritize steady state support and project activities across multiple customer groups  - Strong communication, collaboration, and customer-service skills  - Previous US based and on/offshore experience is required   - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university or college  - Experience working in a managed services environment with a third-party outsourcing provider  - Experience implementing or managing ERP and managed services technologies in a global environment  - Experience managing support in a global company with 100,000+ employees; global exposure is a required
