Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Directs and oversees actuarial work related to capital adequacy, financial strength, experience studies, actuarial modeling, asset liability management (ALM), valuation, retirement plan support, product development, pricing, and non-guaranteed element determination.
- Owns short- to mid-term (1-3 years) strategy execution and operational direction for the actuarial function aligned with organizational objectives.
- Ensures the actuarial team's compliance with actuarial practices and monitors changing regulations to maintain consistent compliance.
- Directs the design, development, and communication of key actuarial reports for internal and external clients, interpreting results and implications.
- Provides actuarial input for product development, pricing, and reinsurance decisions on complex or high-impact products.
- Monitors economic, regulatory, industry, and organizational trends to develop strategies addressing current and future actuarial needs.
- Oversees the use of actuarial tools and models to guarantee outcomes comply with established professional standards.
- Implements quality control procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of actuarial functions.
- Manages team performance through regular feedback and formal reviews to ensure delivery of actuarial objectives.
- Motivates, engages, and develops actuarial staff to build a high-performing, collaborative team.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with senior management and stakeholders to align actuarial insights with business goals.
