Direct Tax Specialist - 3 - 7 years - Bangalore

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with 3 years of experience in Direct Tax to manage tax compliance, tax provisioning, litigation support and reporting activities. The role involves handling tax submissions, preparing quarterly tax reports, managing tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations and supporting tax due diligence for business acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare tax submissions and represent the organization before tax authorities.

- Manage and support tax litigation matters across various levels in India.

- Ensure compliance with TDS/TCS provisions and Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA).

- Ensure accurate computation and booking of current and deferred taxes for global entities on a quarterly basis.

- Prepare schedules for balance sheet tax accounts and support tax reconciliation activities.

- Prepare related-party transaction (RPT) schedules and documentation in coordination with Finance teams.

- Support Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), including data collation, review and filing.

- Monitor industry trends and changes in tax laws and regulations.

- Prepare quarterly tax reports, including advance tax calculations, deferred tax assets/liabilities (DTA/DTL), tax provisioning and effective tax rate (ETR) workings.

- Manage annual income tax returns and tax certificates.

- Identify, evaluate and implement applicable tax incentives.

- Support tax due diligence for business acquisitions and assist with transaction structuring.

Requirements:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with approximately 3 years of relevant experience.

- Strong understanding of Indian direct tax laws and tax litigation procedures.

- Comprehensive knowledge of TDS/TCS provisions and DTAA.

- Experience in current tax and deferred tax computation and provisioning.

- Knowledge of tax reporting, advance tax calculations and effective tax rate (ETR) workings.

- Experience in preparing tax schedules, reconciliations and balance sheet tax account documentation.

- Understanding of related-party transaction documentation and compliance requirements.

- Familiarity with Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) and associated filing requirements.

- Ability to manage income tax returns, tax submissions and interactions with tax authorities.

- Strong analytical, documentation and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with Finance teams.
