Key Responsibilities :
Production Management :
- Lead day-to-day production operations to ensure achievement of business objectives and production targets.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aimed at improving operational efficiency, productivity, and cost optimization.
- Monitor plant performance indicators and initiate corrective actions to enhance throughput and minimize operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure adherence to production plans, schedules, and delivery commitments.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
Production Planning & Execution :
- Plan, organize, direct, and control production activities to meet output requirements within defined timelines.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, utilities, raw materials, and other resources.
- Coordinate closely with planning, procurement, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Review production schedules regularly and adjust priorities based on business requirements.
- Track production metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization :
- Develop strategies to enhance plant efficiency while maintaining minimal manufacturing costs.
- Analyze operational data and implement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and optimize resource consumption.
- Drive continuous improvement programs focused on yield enhancement, process reliability, and cost reduction.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or other operational excellence methodologies.
Quality Management :
- Ensure production activities comply with established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor product quality and implement corrective and preventive actions where necessary.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to address process deviations and quality concerns.
- Promote a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement throughout the plant.
Resource Management :
- Ensure adequate availability of manpower, materials, equipment, facilities, and utilities to support production activities.
- Optimize workforce deployment to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machinery reliability and equipment readiness.
- Support workforce capability development through training and performance improvement initiatives.
Safety, Health & Environment (EHS) :
- Foster a strong safety culture across manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with all plant safety procedures, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment through proactive risk assessments and implementation of safety measures.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and safety improvement programs.
Stakeholder Management :
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders including Production, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Commercial teams.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure operational continuity.
- Present production updates, operational performance reports, and improvement initiatives to management.
- Drive alignment between manufacturing objectives and broader business goals.
- MBA will be an added advantage.
Experience :
- 10 - 12 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations within :
1. Agrochemicals
2. Chemicals
3. Crop Protection
4. FMCG industries
- Candidates from the Agrochemical or Chemical industry will be strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in leading production teams and managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
Technical Competencies :
- Strong understanding of production planning, process optimization, and manufacturing systems.
- Expertise in plant operations, capacity planning, and resource management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or operational excellence practices.
- Familiarity with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in production monitoring tools and manufacturing performance metrics
