Desk Head - Market Neutral Trader

Our client is a leading player in the financial services space, with strong expertise across High-Frequency (HFT) and Medium-Frequency (MFT) trading. As part of their next growth phase, they are expanding into the Market Neutral domain and are looking to hire a Portfolio Manager / Desk Head to lead this new initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage a dedicated team of researchers, data analysts, and execution specialists.

- Build and operationalize the Market Neutral trading desk from the ground up.

- Develop and manage a proprietary trading book with complete P&L ownership, aligned with the firm's absolute return objectives.

- Design, implement, and optimize quantitative Market Neutral strategies for Indian equities (NSE/BSE).

- Maintain rigorous risk management, performance monitoring, and alpha attribution frameworks.

Key Requirements:

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Market Neutral or statistical arbitrage trading.

- Proven track record of consistent alpha generation with strong risk-adjusted returns.

- Deep understanding of Indian equity markets, global macro linkages, and quantitative modelling.

- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and scale trading teams and infrastructure.
