We are looking for an experienced Deputy Purchase Manager to manage procurement operations for raw materials, engineering spares, packaging materials, and other indirect purchases. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor development, import procurement, material planning, and supplier management within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, engineering spares, packaging materials, and other operational requirements.

- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and timely material availability.

- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors.

- Handle import procurement, customs clearance, and ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

- Coordinate with production, planning, quality, and technical teams to ensure uninterrupted material supply.

- Drive material planning, procurement forecasting, and inventory optimization to support production schedules.

- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service levels, and implement improvement initiatives where required.

- Resolve vendor-related issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, payment disputes, and material rejections.

- Support new vendor and material development initiatives in collaboration with QA and technical teams.

- Lead and mentor a team of 35 procurement professionals while ensuring adherence to procurement policies and best practices.

Required Skills:

- 8-12 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.

- Strong experience in sourcing raw materials, engineering spares, and packaging materials.

- Hands-on experience in import procurement, customs clearance, and international sourcing.

- Good understanding of procurement planning, inventory management, and production forecasting.

- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.

- Knowledge of statutory compliance and procurement regulations.

- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) and MS Excel.

- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
