Manufacturing & Process Engineering to join the manufacturing engineering team of a leading global automotive component organization in Pune.
The role will be responsible for driving process development, manufacturing engineering, productivity improvement, process optimization, new product introduction and manufacturing excellence across automotive component manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in automotive manufacturing environments and a strong understanding of production processes, process planning, industrial engineering, automation, quality improvement and cost optimization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead manufacturing and process engineering activities for automotive component production.
- Develop, validate and standardize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process planning, trials, validation and production launch.
- Conduct process feasibility and provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) inputs to engineering and product development teams.
- Drive line balancing, capacity planning, cycle-time improvement and manpower optimization.
- Identify and eliminate process bottlenecks, downtime, waste and productivity losses.
- Improve OEE, throughput, process capability and overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive reduction in rejection, rework, scrap and manufacturing costs.
- Support development and implementation of jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauges and automation solutions.
- Work with Quality teams on PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support installation, commissioning and validation of new machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, SOPs, work instructions and manufacturing standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve production and process-related issues.
- Support technology transfer, process improvements and best-practice implementation across manufacturing locations.
- Monitor project timelines, engineering deliverables and improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
- 6 - 10 years of relevant experience in automotive manufacturing / auto-component industry.
- Hands-on experience in Manufacturing Engineering / Process Engineering / Production Engineering.
- Strong exposure to NPI, process development and production launch.
- Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM and Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D, SPC, MSA and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with process improvement, line balancing, capacity planning and productivity enhancement.
- Exposure to automation, tooling, fixtures and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
