About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to support the financial operations of our European subsidiary. This role will be integral in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing insightful financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Month-end and Quarter-end Closing: Assist in the monthly and quarterly closing processes for our European subsidiary, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. This includes preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyse key financial parameters, investigate variances between budget vs. actual and actual vs. previous periods (month/quarter), and prepare insightful reports highlighting the reasons for these differences.

- Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR): Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements and contributing to a robust control environment.

- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the integrity and hygiene of the General Ledger, perform regular ledger scrutiny, and ensure accurate balance sheet account reconciliations and proper GL coding.

- Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, including IFRS and/or IND AS, in all financial reporting activities.

- Communication: Effectively communicate financial information, analysis, and findings to relevant stakeholders, both within the finance team and with other departments.

- SAP (Preferred): Utilize and navigate SAP system for financial transactions, reporting, and analysis (working knowledge preferred).

Qualifications and Skills:

- CA and Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis techniques.

- Solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or Indian Accounting Standards (IND AS).

- Familiarity with Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) concepts and documentation.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

- Working knowledge of SAP ERP system is preferred.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience working with international subsidiaries or exposure to European accounting practices is an advantage.
