Deputy Manager - Customs - Material Management

Description:


Roles & Responsibilities:


- Material Management: Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, sourcing teams, and global stakeholders to ensure timely availability of materials in line with production plans.


- Licensing & Compliance: Ensure availability of advance licenses, maintain accurate records, and manage timely closure of licenses.


- Customs & Duty Management: Oversee customs clearance of materials, eliminate penalties and demurrage expenses, and continuously work towards minimizing duty payments.


- Inbound Logistics: Optimize inbound logistics to achieve the lowest possible cost while maintaining service quality.


- Contracts & Vendor Management: Ensure availability of rate contracts and service agreements; monitor supplier services and ensure timely vendor payments.


- Insurance Coverage: Ensure insurance coverage wherever required and manage claims effectively.


- Inventory Control: Manage inventory accuracy and optimize utilization of resources to meet production requirements.


- Finance Documentation: Submit required documents to finance for BOE/Bills of Service Vendors and validate genuine claims from channel partners.


- Warehouse Operations: Ensure safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods.


- Reporting & Analytics: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly MIS reports including stock balance, shipment status, and duty payments.


- Regulatory Monitoring: Track government policies, regulatory guidelines, and foreign trade policies (FTP); update management and teams for necessary action.


- Strategic Logistics Planning: Ensure logistics and distribution plans are aligned with organizational strategic objectives.


- Problem Solving: Analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions.


- Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with government offices (Customs, EPC, FDA, FSSAI, PQ & AQ, DGFT), freight forwarders, liners, CHAs, insurance companies, and other agencies to ensure smooth operations.


Skills/Knowledge:


- Customs Procedures, Well-versed in Advance License, Exim Policies, Tax & duty structure, Logistics knowledge handling different modes & vehicles, Sound Knowledge in Warehouse & Material handling, Knowledge in various Insurance policies, SAP MM Module, MS Office
