Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our FMCG organization in Kolkata as the Deputy Head of Internal Audit. In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in strengthening our internal control environment, ensuring that our rapid business expansion is supported by robust risk management frameworks. You will work closely with the leadership team, functional heads, and the Audit Committee to provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of our operational and financial processes. By identifying systemic risks and driving process excellence, you will play a direct role in safeguarding the companys assets and ensuring long-term sustainable growth in a highly competitive consumer goods landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and execute a comprehensive, risk-based annual audit plan to provide assurance to the board regarding the adequacy of internal controls across manufacturing, supply chain, and sales functions.

- Lead complex audit engagements, including forensic reviews and process audits, to identify operational inefficiencies and mitigate potential financial or reputational risks.

- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to implement corrective actions and process improvements, ensuring that audit recommendations translate into tangible business value.

- Oversee the enterprise risk management framework, facilitating the identification and monitoring of key business risks to ensure proactive mitigation strategies are in place.

- Manage and mentor a high-performing audit team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, analytical rigor, and professional development.

- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory compliance and statutory requirements, keeping the organization ahead of evolving industry standards and governance mandates.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrate deep expertise in internal audit methodologies, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.

- Exhibit strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex data sets, identify patterns, and provide actionable insights that drive process excellence.

- Possess exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and communicate complex audit findings with clarity and professional authority.

- Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the agility to adapt audit strategies to the fast-paced, dynamic nature of the FMCG industry.

- Hold a professional qualification such as CA, CIA, or CISA, complemented by 8-12 years of progressive experience in internal audit and risk management.

- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and ethical judgment, capable of maintaining independence while working in a collaborative, on-site environment in Kolkata.
