Deputy General Manager - Treasury & Working Capital

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to lead the Treasury and Working Capital function of a fast-growing organization. The role is critical in ensuring liquidity, optimizing working capital, strengthening banking relationships, supporting business growth, and maintaining strong financial governance.

Reporting to the Finance Controller/CFO, the incumbent will work closely with business, operations, procurement, accounts, tax, and banking partners to ensure efficient cash management, timely funding, lender compliance, and continuous improvement of treasury processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Treasury & Liquidity Management:

- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and rolling cash flow forecasts.

- Monitor cash balances across all bank accounts and group entities.

- Ensure optimum utilization of available funds while maintaining adequate liquidity.

- Plan funding requirements for operations, capital expenditure, debt servicing, and statutory payments.

- Identify funding gaps and support treasury planning and financing strategy.

- Optimize deployment of surplus funds while minimizing borrowing costs.

Working Capital Management:

- Drive improvement in overall working capital performance.

- Monitor receivables, payables, advances, inventory funding and other current assets and liabilities.

- Track key working capital metrics including:

1. Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)

2. Days Payable Outstanding (DPO)

3. Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC)

4. Net Working Capital

- Identify items adversely impacting working capital such as:

1. Unbilled receivables

2. Pending statutory refunds

3. Long outstanding advances

4. Slow-moving balances

5. Other blocked working capital items

- Prepare monthly Working Capital Bridge reports explaining movement in working capital and recommend improvement initiatives.

Payments & Banking Operations:

- Prepare daily payment schedules based on liquidity and business priorities.

- Ensure timely vendor payments, payroll, statutory dues, taxes and debt servicing.

- Coordinate closely with Accounts Payable and business teams for payment prioritization.

- Manage banking operations including fund transfers, bank mandates, payment approvals and account administration.

Treasury Controls & Bank Reconciliations:

- Ensure timely reconciliation of all bank accounts.

- Monitor banking transactions and service levels.

- Strengthen treasury controls and governance.

- Drive automation and digitalization of treasury processes.

Borrowings & Lender Management:

- Manage documentation relating to working capital facilities and term loans.

- Track loan utilization, repayments, renewals and interest servicing.

- Coordinate with banks for renewals, enhancements and new facilities.

- Monitor compliance with all financial covenants.

- Ensure timely submission of stock statements, receivable statements, insurance certificates, compliance certificates and all lender reporting requirements.

Banking Relationship Management:

- Develop strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.

- Support negotiations on pricing, banking charges and treasury products.

- Evaluate new treasury solutions and digital banking initiatives.

MIS & Business Support:

- Prepare treasury dashboards and management reports covering:

1. Cash position

2. Cash flow forecast accuracy

3. Borrowing utilization

4. Collection performance

5. Working capital metrics

6. Covenant compliance

- Support statutory audits, internal audits, lender audits and due diligence exercises.

Process Improvement:

- Standardize treasury and working capital processes.

- Develop SOPs and strengthen governance.

- Identify ERP and automation opportunities.

- Foster a culture of financial discipline and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA), Full-time MBA (Finance) preferred/ Inter CA can be considered with relevant experience.

- CFA or Treasury Certification will be an added advantage.

Experience:

- 8 - 12+ years in Treasury, Corporate Finance or Working Capital Management.

- Experience in large Indian corporates or high-growth businesses.

- Exposure to multiple banking relationships and consortium banking.

- Experience in logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, mobility or other asset-intensive industries will be advantageous.

Technical Skills:

- Treasury and liquidity management.

- Cash flow forecasting.

- Working capital optimization.

- Banking operations.

- Loan documentation and lender compliance.

- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar).
