Job Summary:

The Deputy General Manager Supply Chain Management will lead and scale end-to-end supply chain operations for a fast-paced e-commerce environment. This role is responsible for overseeing fulfillment centers, domestic distribution, last-mile logistics, and inbound supply operations. The incumbent will manage multiple functional teams across warehousing, transportation, inventory planning, and vendor logistics.

The role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking and execution excellence to support rapid growth, peak demand cycles, cost optimization, service-level performance, and risk mitigation in a digitally driven supply chain ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

- Define and execute the supply chain strategy aligned with business growth, customer experience, and unit-economics goals

- Build, lead, and mentor large, cross-functional supply chain teams across fulfillment, logistics, and planning

- Drive cross-functional alignment with procurement, category management, technology, finance, customer experience, and operations teams

- Lead business continuity planning and risk management for supply disruptions, demand volatility, infrastructure constraints, and external dependencies

- Champion automation, digitization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain

Fulfillment Center & Warehouse Operations

- Oversee end-to-end fulfillment center operations including inbound receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, returns, and reverse logistics

- Drive implementation and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), automation, and process standardization

- Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, throughput, productivity, and fulfillment cycle times

- Define, monitor, and improve operational KPIs such as order fill rate, on-time dispatch, inventory accuracy, shrinkage, SLA adherence, and cost per order

- Manage 3PL and in-house fulfillment partners, including performance governance and SLA compliance

Transportation, Last-Mile & Network Operations

- Lead transportation and last-mile delivery operations across regional and national networks

- Drive route optimization, carrier mix strategy, freight cost negotiations, and service-level improvements

- Manage courier, delivery, and logistics partners to ensure high delivery success rates and customer satisfaction

- Oversee returns logistics, RTO reduction, reverse pickup efficiency, and cost controls

Inventory Planning & Demand Fulfillment

- Ensure uninterrupted product availability across fulfillment centers and forward stocking locations

- Lead demand forecasting, inventory planning, safety stock definition, and replenishment strategies

- Balance service levels with working capital efficiency to minimize stock-outs, excess, and aged inventory

- Drive inventory segmentation, lifecycle management, and liquidation strategies for slow-moving SKUs

Vendor & Inbound Supply Operations

- Oversee inbound logistics from domestic and international vendors, including shipment planning and coordination

- Drive visibility and control over inbound lead times, landed costs, and vendor fulfillment performance

- Collaborate with sourcing and category teams to align supply plans with promotions, launches, and seasonal demand spikes

- Mitigate inbound risks related to capacity constraints, delays, and demand surges

Cost Management & Continuous Improvement

- Own the end-to-end supply chain budget, cost-to-serve metrics, and productivity benchmarks

- Drive cost optimization initiatives across warehousing, transportation, packaging, and manpower

- Lead structured continuous improvement programs using Lean, Six Sigma, and automation frameworks

- Improve unit economics while maintaining service quality and scalability

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

- Present operational dashboards, performance reviews, and improvement roadmaps to senior leadership

- Manage relationships with logistics partners, fulfillment vendors, technology providers, and service agencies

- Lead contract negotiations, SLAs, and performance reviews with external partners

- Act as a key supply chain voice in business planning, expansion, and transformation initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

- 15+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations, with 57 years in senior leadership roles

- Strong background in e-commerce, retail, marketplace, or high-volume consumer supply chains

- Proven experience managing large-scale fulfillment centers, last-mile logistics, and inventory planning teams

- Deep understanding of WMS, TMS, data-driven planning, and supply chain analytics

- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, unit economics, and cost-to-serve models

- Demonstrated success in scaling operations, driving automation, and improving service levels at speed

- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills

Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering / Operations / Supply Chain / Logistics; MBA or advanced degree preferred
