Description:
The Deputy General Manager Supply Chain will be responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations across procurement, planning, manufacturing coordination, logistics, warehousing, and distribution. The role will drive supply chain strategy execution, ensure high service levels, cost efficiency, and scalability, while supporting business growth in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
This position requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a data-driven approach to manage complex supply chain networks and deliver operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end supply chain operations including demand & supply planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans
- Drive S&OP / IBP processes to align demand, supply, and financial plans
- Ensure optimal inventory levels, improved forecast accuracy, and high service levels (OTIF / Fill Rate)
- Manage vendor sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management
- Optimize logistics and distribution networks to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Finance, and other stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain teams across locations
- Implement digital tools, ERP systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements
Required Experience:
- 1218 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management within the FMCG industry
- Minimum 46 years in a senior managerial / leadership role
- Strong exposure to demand planning, S&OP, procurement, and distribution operations
- Proven track record in cost optimization, service level improvement, and team leadership
- Experience managing multi-location operations and large SKU portfolios
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Administration
- MBA / Masters degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or General Management preferred
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and planning tools
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume FMCG environments
