Purpose of the Role:
The DGM Compensation & Benefits will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing competitive and compliant compensation and benefits programs for a manufacturing organization. The role ensures alignment of C&B strategies with business objectives, cost optimization, statutory compliance, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compensation & Benefits Strategy and Administration:
- Design, implement, and manage competitive compensation structures including salary bands, grading systems, incentive plans, and performance-linked pay (PLP).
- Lead annual compensation review cycles, including increments, promotions, bonuses, and long-term incentive planning.
- Administer employee benefits programs such as medical insurance, accident insurance, gratuity, PF, superannuation, leave encashment, and other statutory & non-statutory benefits.
- Conduct regular market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and statutory regulations related to compensation and benefits (PF, ESI, Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, etc.).
2. Budgeting & Cost Management:
- Develop, manage, and control the HR compensation and benefits budget, including manpower costs.
- Monitor monthly and annual budget variances and provide detailed MIS and financial analysis.
- Forecast manpower costs based on business growth, capacity expansion, and strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with Finance and Business Heads to align HR cost planning with organizational budgets.
3. HR Analytics, Metrics & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain HR dashboards and key metrics related to compensation, benefits, manpower cost, and productivity.
- Prepare periodic reports and presentations for senior leadership on compensation trends, cost analysis, and ROI.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization and process improvement.
4. Employee Support & Communication:
- Act as a subject matter expert and point of contact for employee queries related to compensation, benefits, and payroll structures.
- Conduct employee communication sessions, workshops, and training programs on C&B policies and benefits enrollment.
- Ensure transparent, consistent, and effective communication of compensation and benefits policies across the organization.
5. Process Improvement & Governance:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in compensation and benefits processes using best practices and automation.
- Strengthen governance, controls, and audit readiness related to payroll and benefits administration.
- Support HR transformation initiatives, including HRIS enhancements and digitization.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
- 8 -12+ years of progressive experience in Compensation & Benefits, preferably in a large manufacturing or industrial organization.
- Strong understanding of Indian labor laws, statutory compliance, and manufacturing workforce dynamics.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and financial management tools.
