About the Role:
- We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Deputy General Manager - Projects to lead the planning, execution, and lifecycle management of store development and facilities across a prestigious retail and apparel network.
- This role will oversee the rollout of new stores, refurbishments, infrastructure upgrades, and preventive maintenance programs, ensuring alignment with brand standards, operational excellence, and long-term business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be accountable for driving end-to-end project management, from conceptual design to store handover, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
- This includes managing design and contracting processes, coordinating with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders, and ensuring all projects comply with safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.
- Your role will also involve implementing preventive maintenance schedules, energy efficiency initiatives, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals to enhance sustainability. You will establish governance frameworks, conduct audits, and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect company assets.
- Managing CapEx and OpEx budgets will be a core responsibility, along with optimizing vendor partnerships, negotiating contracts for cost-effectiveness, and introducing innovative solutions that improve project delivery and facility performance.
- You will work closely with leadership teams to ensure store environments deliver a premium customer experience and support operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 to 12 years of proven experience in retail project management, store development, or facilities management, with a strong track record of delivering multiple projects on time and within budget. Proficiency in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget control.
- Familiarity with ESG practices, energy efficiency solutions, and preventive maintenance systems. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
