Deputy General Manager - Program Management - Manufacturing

A leading manufacturing client of ours is looking for a DGM-Program Management for its location in Chennai.

Scope / Purpose & Key Responsibilities:

- Co-ordinating and controlling Project Timing & Investments from Initialisation to Kick-Off milestone. Works with the Program Management Office Head to ensure that the Program timelines are achievable and meets guidelines & Investments are within approved limits.

- Primary contact for Product Planning Team to coordinate Change requests and liaison with Platform Program Managers to estimate Program Investments. Responsible for planning completed estimates in appropriate approval forums within PD.

- Responsible for assessing Material cost impacts due to Scope changes initiated by Product Planning along with Platform teams and highlighting impact to business case.

- Plan gateways, functional milestones and deliverables, managing constraints to ensure delivery to program timing and budget with maximum effectiveness.

- Work with PD Finance and Platform teams to consolidate investments on multiple major projects and ensure timely approval in forums in order to support Business Plan decisions.

- Lead the data analytics based Resource Management team to systematically analyse workload / budget utilisation data and forecast risks of overrun / additional resource needs.

- Maintain History of changes to assumptions and their impacted revisions to timing and investments.

- Set up regular update sessions to review the status.

- Effectively manage resources across multiple platforms and maintain control of the same liaising with Platforms / CoEs and HR.

General and Task Management:

- Create the project identification and planning documentation for the various work streams

- Receive proposed work scope and deliverables and prepare consequent proposals for timing plan and budget (external spend and hours)

- Communicate initiation of the project and kick-off all required project activities in project team

- Review any requests for change to project scope and determine, with support from the platform team, the consequent changes to project

Stakeholder Management:

- Responsible for instructing Finance to initiate the project in the relevant company systems (time recording, Purchasing etc)

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the manufacturing strategy

- Always ensure clear communication of all aspects of Program Management.

Location: Chennai. Travel will be required based on business needs.
