Deputy General Manager - Procurement

Description: We are looking for a commercially strong Sourcing & Procurement professional to manage indirect materials and Capex procurement across multiple categories. The role will drive cost optimization, supplier performance, and value creation through structured sourcing, negotiations, and category management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Indirect & Capex Procurement:

- Manage sourcing and procurement of indirect materials and Capex categories including Signage, Furniture, Lighting, Refrigeration, Kitchen Equipment, Plastic, Metalware/Fabrication, Marketing POSMs, and allied items

- Own end-to-end procurement lifecycle from requirement understanding to PO closure

Vendor & Category Management:

- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage vendors across categories

- Drive supplier performance management, governance, and continuous improvement

- Lead category management initiatives including standardization and consolidation

Costing, Negotiation & Value Creation:

- Develop and deploy costing models to evaluate supplier proposals

- Conduct price comparisons, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and cost benchmarking

- Track commodity price movements and market trends

- Lead commercial negotiations to ensure best value-for-money outcomes

- Contribute to value creation and cost-saving projects

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Partner with internal stakeholders across Marketing, Projects, Operations, and Finance to align procurement strategies with business needs

- Manage timelines, expectations, and issue resolution through effective stakeholder engagement

Process Ownership & Governance:

- Ensure timely PO processing, supplier coordination, and delivery adherence

- Maintain procurement documentation, reports, and compliance with internal policies

- Drive sourcing standardization and process improvements

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of item sourcing, specifications, grades, processes, and cost structures

- Excellent analytical capability with the ability to interpret data and market insights

- Proven negotiation and commercial acumen

- End-to-end procurement process ownership

- High problem-solving ability with agility in fast-paced environments

- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Experience in indirect procurement / Capex sourcing / category management

- Exposure to multi-category procurement in retail, FMCG, QSR, infrastructure, or project-driven environments

- Hands-on approach with a balance of strategy and execution
