Fleet Management:
- Lead end-to-end management of owned fleet assets, including trucks, vans, and other commercial vehicles, ensuring optimal availability, reliability, and utilization.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, servicing schedules, and vendor coordination to ensure high safety and uptime standards.
- Route Planning & Network Optimization
- Design, review, and optimize delivery routes to enhance operational efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and consistently meet service-level commitments.
- Leverage route optimization tools, analytics, and technology platforms to improve delivery accuracy and turnaround times.
- Driver Leadership & Performance Management
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of drivers, ensuring strict adherence to safety norms, statutory requirements, and internal performance standards.
- Conduct regular training, coaching, and performance reviews to promote safe driving behavior, productivity, and customer-centric delivery.
- Vehicle Tracking & Performance Monitoring
- Implement and govern vehicle tracking, GPS, and telematics systems to monitor fleet movement, fuel efficiency, driver behavior, and asset utilization.
- Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies, drive corrective actions, and improve overall fleet productivity.
- Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with transportation laws, permits, licensing, and regulatory standards across all fleet operations.
- Develop and enforce safety policies, incident management protocols, and preventive measures to minimize accidents, losses, and operational risks.
Cost Management & Budget Control:
- Own transportation cost management, including fuel, maintenance, repairs, and operating budgets, in line with financial targets.
- Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives without compromising service quality or safety standards.
Vendor & Partner Management:
- Manage relationships with external service providers, maintenance partners, and logistics vendors to support fleet and transportation operations.
- Lead contract negotiations, SLA management, and vendor performance reviews to ensure value, reliability, and compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Digital Enablement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on fleet productivity, cost efficiency, and service excellence.
- Implement best practices, process enhancements, and technology-led solutions to strengthen operational effectiveness and scalability.
Role Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Advanced certifications in logistics, fleet management, or transportation (preferred).
Experience & Skills:
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in fleet operations, transportation logistics, or large-scale distribution environments.
- Strong expertise in fleet maintenance management, transportation regulations, and route optimization methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with fleet management systems, GPS tracking, and telematics platforms.
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing large, diverse driver and operations teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven decision-making approach.
