Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the end- to- end logistics operations. This includes managing warehousing, transportation, distribution, and inventory control to ensure the seamless movement of goods across the supply chain.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that support the company's goals for efficiency, scalability, and profitability in the FMCG market.
- Ensure optimal network design for warehouses and distribution centers to minimize lead times and maximize coverage.
- Identify and implement cost- saving opportunities while maintaining high service standards.
- Manage daily operations of transportation, warehousing, and distribution to ensure timely delivery of products to retail outlets, distributors, and customers.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure fill rate & avoid stock out, ensuring alignment with sales forecasts.
- Optimize routes and transportation methods to reduce costs and improve delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with production and sales teams to manage demand planning and reduce stock obsolescence.
- Oversee relationships with third- party logistics providers (3PLs), freight carriers, and other service partners.
- Negotiate contracts and SLAs with logistics vendors to ensure cost efficiency and service quality.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Prepare and present logistics performance reports.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities within logistics operations.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and demand planning to maintain optimal stock levels.
Key Focus Areas:
- Monitor and drive sufficient availability of finished products on a day to day to customers across locations and various channels of distribution
- Assess and plan for requirement of logistics capabilities (transporters, CFAs) basis the annual plans
- Ensure high quality of customer service to distributors and MT chains to minimize stock- outs in the supply chain
- Monitor forecasting, budgeting and control of all logistics, planning and distribution activities with focus on driving efficiencies.
- Oversee Inventory controls to avoid any loss of sales / business opportunity and drive availability of products
- Monitoring return on costs advising better ways to operate godowns, negotiate transport contracts, assess and improve freight costs, improve fill rates etc..
- Oversee the adherence to standard processes, ISO 22001 systems at depots
- Drive effective negotiation with transporters, CFA agents to ensure optimization of costs
- Ensuring adherence to timely generation of standard reports (on Click view) to monitor the performance of the department
- Provide a customer service interface to direct customer (modern trade chains) by ensuring stock availability, high fill rates
